Stopover in Athens: what to do and when to leave
Athens airport connects with the city by Metro and train, but one exit adds immigration, a platform, a long return and controls. Plaka and the Acropolis form a concentrated exit; Avoid distributing the scale between distant neighborhoods.
With less than 8 hours, stay at ATH. From 9–11 hours Plaka can fit if you can enter Greece, the luggage continues to the destination and you reserve three hours to return. Full Monastiraki requires 12 hours or more.
