Stopover in Edinburgh: what to do and when to leave
Edinburgh Airport has a single terminal and the tram leaves right in front of the building. The center is about 30 minutes away, but entering the UK, going through security and returning to a particular gate can eat up a lot of the layover.
With less than 10 hours, stay in EDI. From 10–12 hours you can fit Princes Street and Old Town if you can enter the UK, the luggage continues to the destination and you reserve three hours to return.
