Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino · FCO
Stopover in Rome: what to do and when to leave
Fiumicino is far from the center and an urban scale adds controls, Leonardo Express, links and a prudent return to the terminal. Trastevere is a concentrated exit; the monumental center only fits with a wide margin and a closed return before starting.
With less than 8 hours, stay in FCO. From 9–11 hours Trastevere can fit if you can enter Italy, the luggage continues to the destination and you reserve three hours to return. Adding the monumental center requires 12 hours or more.
